Psalm 8 (The Passion Translation)
„Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name!
People everywhere see your splendor.
You have built a stronghold by the songs of children.
Strength rises up with the chorus of infants.
This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth.
Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.
Look at the splendor of your skies, your creative genius glowing in the heavens.
When I gaze at your moon and your stars, mounted like jewels in their settings, I know you are the fascinating artist who fashioned it all!
But I have to ask this question: Why would you bother with puny, mortal man or care about human beings?
Yet what honor you have given to men, created only a little lower than Elohim, crowned with glory and magnificence.
You have delegated to them rulership over all you have made, with everything under their authority, placing earth itself under the feet of your image-bearers.
All the created order and every living thing of the earth, sky, and sea— the wildest beasts and all that move in the paths of the sea — everything is in submission to Adam’s sons.
Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name!
People everywhere see your splendor!“
How Psalm 8 has inspired us...
Psalm 8 has inspired us and given us valuable insights. God blesses children by placing His praise in their mouths. Often, it is these smallest members of society who begin to worship God with their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. God speaks of His immeasurable greatness, which is revealed in nature, and then speaks of the children and infants who testify to His power. This is an incredible contrast. Their pure hearts and openness are keys to encountering and experiencing God. Children are in search of goodness and are very sensitive. For them, it is easy to recognize where they feel comfortable and safe; what is good and what is bad. This intuition is inherent in children. They long for love, protection, and security. Children feel at ease where there is a good and safe atmosphere. All of this they can find in God.
When we look at heaven and all of creation, we are filled with awe and wonder. We realize how small we are, yet we are cared for by God. We believe that every person is created in the image of God. God has a purpose and calling for each of us. He wants to live with us on Earth and use us as guides. Through our relationship with Him, we are never alone. We can have fellowship with Him and live in the abundance He has promised us (John 10:10). Honor, dignity, respect, and appreciation are at the center of our actions because God has bestowed honor and dignity on every person. God calls us to protect the life He has given to us and to others.
We from P8-Team love to care for animals and the creation that God has entrusted to us. We want to preserve, cultivate, and manage nature so that our land becomes fruitful. In doing so, we honor God and take good care of His creation. Our hearts beat to proclaim the Good News, for people need Jesus – the way, the truth, and the life. Our goal is for P8-Team to be in touch with life and to represent the glory, beauty, and diversity of God. These insights guide us in our actions and motivate us to build God’s kingdom and carry His light into the world.
